Premarital
Premarital class is intended for those planning to be married or exploring the idea of Christian marriage. It is required for those intending to get married at Elmbrook or by an Elmbrook pastor. The class features large-group teaching sessions on pertinent topics and small-group discussions led by qualified and invested leaders. Couples do not have to be engaged to attend, and they do not have to have any affiliation with Elmbrook Church.

- 8 week class starts September 16, 2012
- Meets Sundays, 11 am-12:30 pm
- Cost is $25 per couple and this includes all class materials

- Discovering each other’s love languages
- Handling the finances
- The important first years
- Communication and conflict resolution
- Why God designed marriage
- Planning your wedding ceremony
- God’s protection for marriage
- Staying in love
Class Requirements
1. Attendance and participation in all eight class sessions. In case of illness or other unavoidable reason for absence, contact your small group leaders to obtain the CD for the session. Cost is $5. Sessions are also available for download online. Click for class audio files
2. Reading of The Most Important Year in a Man’s Life/The Most Important Year in a Woman’s Life by Robert/Bobbie Wolgemuth & Mark/Susan Devries (available in the church bookstore).
3. Reading of one other book from the Recommended Book List many available in the Church Library or Church Bookstore).
4. Book reports on the two books read by each participant, which are passed along to the officiating pastor if you are getting married at Elmbrook. (Book Report Form – Winter 2012)
5. Small Group Social: Each group will meet outside of class with small group leader couples. Date to be determined by the group.
