WHAT IS ELMBROOK SERVES SATURDAY?

Elmbrook Serves Saturday is a quarterly, all-church serving event where we partner with a number of local organizations to serve our community. It’s a great way to take a first step in serving while meeting people from Elmbrook.

WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING ABOUT ELMBROOK SERVES SATURDAY?

“Everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy helping even though it was cold and wet outside that day. The people worked hard without complaint, as though serving the Lord.”

“I was humbled myself to see how humbled the family we helped was by having us descend upon their family and home with our helping hands. We all became family as we worked side by side. God’s blessings were on us all.”

“I worked with two other ladies who were just a bit older than I am. I enjoyed the fellowship and their wisdom. They were my mentors for the moment and they didn’t even know it! God was at work in my heart, saying, “See, this is what hands-on ministry looks like. You should do more of this.”

From the Waukesha County Park System – “All of the shrubs that your group trimmed looked so much better, the roadside also looked wonderful after your group finished, also by cutting a lot of Buckthorn on the side of the road our group helped impede the spread of this incredibly invasive plant. It helps out our park staff tremendously because of their normal day-to-day responsibilities; they normally won’t be able to tackle a project as big as your group has.”

From Lutherdale Ministries -  “A big yellow school bus filled with willing volunteers, eager garlic mustard pullers, people on their hands and knees scrubbing around toilets, scouring the rust-encrusted showers, windows taken out of the sash to get them uber-clean, “I need a brush so I can clean this better!” You guys really went above and beyond in your passion of cleaning…I couldn’t believe how much you accomplished.
