Mission & Serve
Since the days of the early church, Jesus’ followers have been engaged in fulfilling God’s mission: the privilege of proclaiming in word and deed the message of hope, redemption and salvation in Christ. As Elmbrook Church participates in the mission of God we envision every person who considers Elmbrook their church home, growing as a fully devoted disciple, sent into the world for Christ—with a local and global perspective of God’s Kingdom.
We understand that:
- All Christ followers are sent into the world as witnesses
- Mission is both local and global
- Involvement in the Mission of God requires bold, courageous faith
- We are part of the global church and therefore must listen to, learn from and serve with our brothers and sisters in cultures near and far
Our priorities for local and global mission at Elmbrook are:
- Unreached people groups – those that have little or no access to the gospel
- Post-Christian Contexts – those areas of the world most resistant to the gospel or highly secularized
- Children at Risk – children caught in bonded child labor, extreme poverty, human slavery, trafficking, war and other forms of violence.
- Poor and vulnerable of Waukesha and Milwaukee County
