About the Event
Brookfield
If you have lost a loved one to death and your heart is aching, or you’re just wondering how to celebrate this special time of the year without that person, Elmbrook is hosting a remembrance evening. On Friday, we will come together in the Chapel to honor those we dearly miss and wish were still with us. There is no time limit on when we stop experiencing our loss. Here’s what you can expect:
A time of celebration, with music, readings, a message of hope and peace
Candle lighting for each special person who is no longer with us
An opportunity to turn our sorrow into rejoicing
Time to gather with others who share our pain, and desire to be lifted up together with joy and blessings.
Other opportunities to help you walk through the sadness and grief
Individual prayer
If you know someone who would be encouraged by this remembrance celebration, please invite them. Please RSVP so we know you are coming .
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ." (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)
